OUR FINISIHED ALBUM COVER! AND ALBUM!

Storyboarding

Skills

I feel that by doing this preliminary task I have improved myself within my media knowledge. As well as the task being fun, I have gained a further understanding of how the media industry works, how advertising works and how a bands image can portray different genres according to its iconography. I feel better prepared for the A3 course because of having practice and gaining an understanding in how to create a band image. I have learnt more about synergy and have also learnt more about Photoshop.
I really thought our video , magazine advert and cd cover had synergy as we used the same image pm all three and the same effect. By doing this it may make the audience recognise the band. I feel we achieved this.

Finished Magazine Advert

Finished Album cover

Magazine advert

Today , we are designing a magazine advertisement for the single produced by our band. We have decided that there needs to be a consistent uniformity between our album cover and magazine advertisement. This is because , consumers will recognise the similarities between them and identify it is the same band. Also , if a consumer chooses to buy the album based on the magazine advertisement , they know important aspects of the album cover to identify with the magazine advertisement.

We also decided that the colour pallet must be similar to conform with the genre. The band font has to be exactly the same in both the magazine advert and the album cover so that the band is easily recognisable.

This is a magazine advert for and album by Blink 182, this only includes the album cover and the name of the album,. We decided that this is a good way of advertising as it allows fans to recognise the album cover.

Filming

last week we filmed our video for blink 182's 'what’s my age again. We decided to use a shopping trolley to create the tracking as we decided this would result in a smoother shot. We placed the tripod in the trolley with the camera placed on it and i moved with it in front of Emily and Kennedy.

Although we decided this would result in a smoother shot, we discovered that if the trolley moved too fast the vibration caused a shaky shot. To counteract this, Emily and Kennedy slowed down running so i could move slower to get a steadier shot.

We also added the track and got rid of the background noise. In places we decided to use lip syncing as this is a common feature in music videos.
